September Coffee Talk

Hello everyone!!

Grab a coffee, pick up a pencil, and put your ideas to paper. During this Coffee Talk, attendees will be given one of three sites around Arizona and challenged to design a pavilion in response to its unique context. Through quick sketches and design exploration, we’ll have the opportunity to think about how site, culture, environment, and community can influence architectural ideas.

In recognition of National Hispanic Heritage Month, our three Arizona sites will offer an opportunity to explore how culture, community, and place can inform the way we design. How might the landscape shape your design? What stories can architecture tell about culture, community, or place?

This is a casual and collaborative activity open to everyone, whether you are an experienced designer, student, emerging professional, or simply interested in giving sketching a try. There is no pressure to create a finished project, be curious and ready to explore ideas, experiment, and share your perspective with others. Paper and pencils will be provided, and sketchbooks are encouraged!

We invite you to join us on Saturday, September 19th, at SoZo Coffee House for a morning of coffee, conversation, and creative exploration. We’d love to see what you come up with!
