Message from the President

Greetings NOMA Family!

I wanted to take this time to greet you on behalf of the NOMA Arizona Executive Board. I am looking forward to these next two years as your chapter President. I am humbled by the outpouring of support from those of you who have been with me along the way and looking forward to building new relationships within our membership and with our Allied Professional Partners.

As we look to the future, please take comfort in knowing that we will be working on tightening up our organizational structure to be more accessible to you, our members, and meeting your needs whether you are a Seasoned Professional, Emerging Professional, College Student or in our K-12 sector.

We are listening and I am committed to connecting with each of you on a personal level.

As you know, we are still in the middle of the pandemic, so that has some impact on our meeting format and social gatherings. We have begun to have more in-person events, with a hybrid component to keep our members connected during this time of transition. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we navigate these waters. Having the family back together again has been food to my soul receiving that familiar hug, handshake, and smile.

Finally, because of the great leadership of our Past Presidents, our chapter has not only grown during the past few years but is excelling in so many areas, with members advancing their professional goals and gaining a greater presence in our community overall. My plan is to continue pushing open the doors and taking a seat at the tables that once were not open to us as Minority Architects/Designers/Allied Professionals.

With that said, let’s keep moving forward with high expectations of greatness!

With Gratitude,
Maurita N. Harris
