DESCRIPTION:AIA Arizona is planning an Architect Advocacy Day at the Arizona State Capitol on Wednesday\, February 12\, 2025\, once again in collaboration with USGBC and NOMA. Architect and Associate members are welcome to attend. This half-day event will be from morning through lunch with legislators in the Historic Senate Chamber. If you are interested in attending and representing your profession\, please RSVP by January 31\, 2025. \nParticipating is simply a matter of being present to represent your profession. You do not need to be an expert at government affairs or the legislative process. Further information will be provided for attendees. SUMMARY:Project Tour - PALMTower
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Will Bruder Architects\, LJC/Clayco’s PALMtower is designed to be a distinctive addition to Phoenix’s urban skyline. This 352-unit residential tower transforms the entry sequence into the Arizona Center\, making it the heart of the evolving neighborhood. The 28-story tower floats above a sculptural silver-clad parking podium\, grounded by majestic palm trees and lush desert landscaping. PALMtower’s architecture and finishes have been developed and selected based on the region’s material\, qualities\, texture\, distinctive character\, and climate. The finishes include polished concrete floors\, architectural concrete masonry walls with horizontal rustic ‘weeping’ mortar joints\, and satin silver metal/louvers protecting generously glazed façades. \nAttendees will gather at the corner of 5th Street and Van Buren\, outside of the PALM tower lobby. \nThis event is limited to 15 people\, so be sure to RSVP early and if you are unable to attend\, please contact Cris Rueda at ruedac@theljc.com \nMetered street parking is available along 5th St\, additional paid parking available in the Arizona Center\nParking Garage (entrance is on 5th St). \nRSVP here.
