DESCRIPTION:The NOMA AZ John Williams Memorial Scholarship is intended to promote the benefits of diversity within the student bodies of design schools by providing financial assistance to a student that most embodies the spirit of NOMA AZ’s core mission: Create a team of students and professionals who want to inspire and empower under-served communities in Arizona\, regardless of socio-economic status\, culture\, language\, race\, religion\, national origin\, ethnicity\, disability\, sex\, gender identity\, sexual orientation\, or age. \nWe strive to increase the number of minorities and women in our profession in general\, but especially in positions of leadership and influence by supporting their professional development. We want our organization to be a valuable resource that is welcoming\, reliable\, socially and environmentally progressive\, and which encourages fellowship across disciplines. \nThis scholarship is not need-based but rather merit-based. DESCRIPTION:At this current moment in time\, there is a war between Palestine and Israel\, Ukraine and Russia\, and many more around the globe. We will meet in a private conference at this coffee shop welcoming all to talk of feelings\, observations\, questions\, and so on about the impact of war on humanity.\nThis Coffee Talk will be available to NOMA members and students only. Details will be sent to members via a separate email.\nWe hope that with this Coffee Talk\, we can all gather in the community to talk openly about this pressing topic and how it impacts humanity.\n\nThis will be our last Coffee Talk before our summer break July through August. Coffee Talks will begin again in September!\n\n\nWhat are Coffee Talks? Coffee Talks are a NOMAarizona monthly event. Order a warm/iced beverage of your choice from rotating cafe locations around the valley. In Coffee Talks\, we come together to share\, listen\, and learn in a casual setting. This is a place where topics both light and heavy can be discussed welcomingly while learning from different perspectives and joining in community. We encourage all to join in the conversation as we explore many topics and coffee shops with NOMAarizona.\n\nFollow up: At each Coffee Talk\, the facilitators take notes. Individual stories and names are not included in the notes to maintain the confidentiality of each person.
