In discussions around diversity and equity it is important to understand that everyone sees and experiences the world differently – what seems “right” in your experience may not be so in someone else’s. Everyone is asked to consider different perspectives\, for the purpose of sensitivity\, learning\, and growth. Members of NOMAarizona will typically be the facilitators for our discussions. DESCRIPTION:FREE event open to non-members (does require advance registration)\nRSVP here\n\nOn January 14\, 2023\, women\, non-binary people\, and people of the LGBTQ+ community gathered at a NOMAarizona and AIA PHX Metro DEI hosted Coffee Talk at the McKinley Club to discuss the struggles\, issues\, values\, successes\, and impacts these communities face within the Architecture\, Engineering\, and Construction industry. \nThis conversation collected information that is transforming into an educational workshop and conversation series to talk about welcoming gender inclusion and support in the workplace. We appreciate your patience with us as we develop this highly sought-after programming. The people behind planning these sessions are taking special care to consider the many insights from a very diverse group. We will do our best to address the most critical elements from your input with the goal to expand these conversations beyond the rooms they occur in. \nJoin us on Tuesday\, May 23 at the AIA Arizona office for a reception and a panel discussion. \n\n5:30pm – Reception\n6:00pm – Conversation\n\nThe conversation will be moderated by Alisa Santiago\, NOMA\, Architectural Designer at Architectural Resource Team\, with panelists: \n\nAnthony Leger\, City of Phoenix Equal Opportunity Department and LGBTQ Employee Alliance\nAngela Sullivan\, Assoc.
