SUMMARY:April Coffee Talk - "Being Curious with Confidence"
DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone! On April 19th\, we will be talking about “Being Curious with Confidence” and how that may look different in our adulthood compared to our childhood. Curiosity is a powerful force that drives exploration\, learning\, and growth. Children embody this naturally—they ask endless questions\, dive into new experiences without hesitation\, and approach the world with fearless wonder without much thought of being wrong or looking foolish. But does this change as we grow older? If so\, when and why does this shift occur? We invite you to join us on April 19th at Moka & Co for this insightful topic to hear other people’s thoughts\, opinions\, and experiences!\n \nAbout Moka & Co: Moka & Co is a Yemeni coffee shop that recently opened a new location in Mesa\, AZ. Their mission is to: “Deliver an amazing\, unique taste of culture\, served with a high standard of hospitality.”\n \nWhat are Coffee Talks? Coffee Talks are a NOMAarizona monthly event. Order a warm or iced beverage of your choice from rotating cafe locations around the valley. SUMMARY:Z Modular Manufacturing Plant Tour - Modular Apartments
DESCRIPTION:The March tour is being hosted by STG Design and Z Modular. \nZ Modular is a modular manufacturer specializing in off-site fabricated apartment housing across the US and Canada. The event will tour the factory floor starting with raw steel and walking attendees through each phase of the construction process. At the end of the tour\, attendees will be able to see a finished model unit of what the end user would inhabit. Modular and off-site manufactured housing aims to speed up construction in a controlled environment by delivering needed housing to markets on a faster timeline. In a plant setting\, an indoor construction environment allows a safer and better work culture\, leading to less turnover than that seen on typical construction sites and a higher-end finished building. \n\nAttendees must be in full PPE. At minimum this means closed-toed shoes and full-length pants. Attendees will not be allowed on the factory floor with open shoes or heels. If attendees have hard hats\, vests\, and safety glasses they are encouraged to bring them. If not\, we will have PPE available on site.\n\nWe will meet in main lobby. Security is strict so the front door may be locked after we begin. Late attendees may not be able to enter. Please be prompt! \nThe maximum capacity of the tour is 25 persons\, so RSVP early and if your plans change\, please notify pastpresident@nomaarizona.org so that we can give someone else the opportunity. RSVP Here. \nBottled water and restrooms will be available. \nSee parking information below.

SUMMARY:March Coffee Talk - The Circle of Mentorship
DESCRIPTION:Hello everyone! On March 22nd\, we will be discussing The Circle of Mentorship. The “Circle” of Mentorship in the title is meant to represent that what you teach teaches you as you teach it. In each mentorship relationship\, there is learning and growth that happens on both sides.  Mentorship is quite the passage for us all to receive and to give. We invite you to join us on March 22nd at Shaghf Cafe for this insightful conversation!\n \nLook for our “NOMAarizona Coffee Talks” sign on our table. Also\, look for our story on the NOMAarizona Instagram for the specific table on day of the event.\n\nRSVP here.\n\nAbout Shaghf Cafe: Shaghf Café is an Arab coffee shop with “Shaghf” meaning “passion.” With Shaghf Cafe originally being from the UAE\, they bring culture\, community\, and coffee to Tempe\, Arizona. \n \nWhat are Coffee Talks? Coffee Talks are a NOMAarizona monthly event. Order a warm or iced beverage of your choice from rotating cafe locations around the valley. In Coffee Talks\, we come together to share\, listen\, and learn in a casual setting. This is a place where light and heavy topics can be discussed welcomingly while learning from different perspectives and joining in community. We encourage all to participate in the conversation as we explore many topics and coffee shops with NOMAarizona.\n \nIf you have a topic/input/comments you’d like to chat about for coffee talks please click on this link: Your Coffee Talk Input

SUMMARY:Project Tour - PALMTower
DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with Will Bruder Architects\, LJC/Clayco’s PALMtower is designed to be a distinctive addition to Phoenix’s urban skyline. This 352-unit residential tower transforms the entry sequence into the Arizona Center\, making it the heart of the evolving neighborhood. The 28-story tower floats above a sculptural silver-clad parking podium\, grounded by majestic palm trees and lush desert landscaping. PALMtower’s architecture and finishes have been developed and selected based on the region’s material\, qualities\, texture\, distinctive character\, and climate. The finishes include polished concrete floors\, architectural concrete masonry walls with horizontal rustic ‘weeping’ mortar joints\, and satin silver metal/louvers protecting generously glazed façades. \nAttendees will gather at the corner of 5th Street and Van Buren\, outside of the PALM tower lobby. \nThis event is limited to 15 people\, so be sure to RSVP early and if you are unable to attend\, please contact Cris Rueda at ruedac@theljc.com \nMetered street parking is available along 5th St\, additional paid parking available in the Arizona Center\nParking Garage (entrance is on 5th St). \nRSVP here.
