SUMMARY:Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza Tour
DESCRIPTION:Free event\nOpen to public\nPPE required (closed-toed shoes\, safety glasses\, safety vest) so please RSVP to secure your spot!\nRSVP and save in your calendar!\n\nJoin our next tour of the newly opened and still under construction Scottsdale Civic Center Plaza led by Brett Elsasser\, Willmeng Project Manager\, and Brandon Sobiech\, DIG Studio Associate Principal. \nDig Studio in close collaboration with Ritoch Powell and Lake|Flato Architects developed guiding principles with the City for the renovation that were based on previous plan outreach. These principles included the creation of an entertainment destination\, providing a connected center\, honoring Scottsdale Civic Center’s history\, celebrating cultural influences and significant cultural impact of the surrounding institutions\, providing daily layers and flexibility in programming and setting a new standard for high-performance design. \nThe project consists of nine acres of iconic open public space constructed over 50 years ago in the heart of downtown Scottsdale\, Arizona. With a bond-funded $27.5 million budget\, the Civic Center Plaza Renovation Project will upgrade the utility infrastructure\, grading and drainage\, and the landscape as well as provide a new decorative hardscape. Improvements will include new structural elements\, such as two multi-functional stages\, restroom facilities\, a children’s play area with a mist-fog system\, and a play area with a shade canopy. \nParking: If using Google or Apple maps – please use the following address which directs you to the parking lot next to the Willmeng trailer where we will meet: \n7469 E Indian School Rd\nScottsdale\, AZ 85251 \nSince we won’t be there all day\, attendees can park for free in any of the highlighted areas on the map below. \nIf you would like to host a tour in the future\, please contact Pratima Tatikonda at pratimatatikonda@gmail.com

SUMMARY:Tolleson City Hall Tour
DESCRIPTION:Free event\nOpen to public\nPlease RSVP here to secure your spot!\n\nJoin us for a tour of the Tolleson Civic Center\, led by the Project Designer\, John Tran\, designed by SmithGroup. Discovered through town hall meetings and charettes engaging the city’s diverse population\, the Tolleson Civic Center intentionally acts as the community’s front door and living room. Functionally\, it will serve as an administrative center\, housing the city’s main library and senior community center. Designed to optimize natural light without heat gain\, the building’s orientation and sloping roof provide practical solutions with positive aesthetic impacts. Surrounded by mountains\, the building seems to spring from the earth and makes best use of the passive resources. \n———————————————- \nIf you would like to host a tour in the future\, please contact Pratima Tatikonda at pratimatatikonda@gmail.com
